My Therapeutic Philosophy
I am grounded in the roots of existential psychotherapy and strive to form a genuine, compassionate, and non-judgmental therapeutic bond within my space. My approach focuses on encouraging, challenging, and validating your journey through talk therapy and providing essential tools for values building and maintenance, strengthening your communication with others and yourself, and celebrating earned goals and creating milestones for your future. By examining and evaluating your lived world and critically reflecting on your experiences, you can take intentional actions toward a deeply connected sense of self and well-being.
I place great importance on our abilities to co-create our worlds and relationships. My approach focuses on building a space of trust and understanding to allow you to explore and strengthen your mental health and wellness. I will initiate critical thinking in areas of identifying your values and needs, and encourage continual building of an active self through actions and compassionate reflections. By examining and evaluating your lived world and critically reflecting on your experiences, you can take intentional steps toward a deeply connected sense of self and well-being.
Are you struggling to understand one another? Do you feel like you're focusing on past resentments instead of building loving memories? My approach combines my training in relationship-specific modalities, including the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and attachment theory, with my training in individual-centered work, deconstructing perspectives and preferences, highlighting the ruptures and any harmful patterns, and building effective and respectful communication and physical and emotional regulation skills. Our work together may sometimes feel challenging, vulnerable, and healing throughout the process of repairing and rebuilding the foundations of trust, reciprocity, and attunement.
