My Therapeutic Philosophy

I am grounded in the roots of existential psychotherapy and focus on integrating the practices of the Gottman Method, Emotionally-Focused, and attachment theory into my work with couples and relationships. My approach will focus on identifying and understanding your healthy and unhealthy patterns with each other and yourself. Through honest discussions on values, expectations, and lifestyles, you will build consistent and compassionate communication and healthy problem-solving techniques to strengthen your bonds and reduce your stressors and disconnections.

Individual Adult Therapy

Did you grow up around emotionally unavailable caregivers? Were you left to understand the world on your own? Do you feel overwhelmed and unprepared for the complexities of life and adult relationships? Over the years as a therapist, I have found that I work best with those who feel lost, ill-equipped, and yearning for more agency and deeper relationships in their lives.
I place great importance on our abilities to co-create our worlds and relationships. My approach focuses on building a space of trust and understanding to allow you to explore and strengthen your sense of self and purpose. I will initiate critical thinking in areas of values, needs, and boundaries, and encourage action and self-compassionate reflection. By taking the time to examine and evaluate your lived world and critically attuning to your emotions and experiences, you can find a deeply connected sense of self and well-being.

Relationship Therapy

Are you struggling to understand one another? Do you feel like you're focusing on past resentments instead of building loving memories? My approach combines my training in relationship-specific modalities, including the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and attachment theory, with my training in individual-centered work, deconstructing perspectives and preferences, highlighting the ruptures and any harmful patterns, and building effective and respectful communication and physical and emotional regulation skills. Our work together may sometimes feel challenging, vulnerable, and healing throughout the process of repairing and rebuilding the foundations of trust, reciprocity, and attunement.
